Baobab new limited edition DISCO
Baobab Collection presents its new Autumn-Winter 2017 limited edition, Disco, an ode to the disco years and the joyful, ecstatic experience they brought to the world.
This collection’s hand-blown glass has a metallic sheen, the result of multiple applications that create an ombré effect, just transparent enough to let the flame shine through. Thanks to our artisans’ technical prowess, we’ve successfully achieved a unique set of colours, including; olive green, deep red, ocean blue, powder pink, aged gold, and Prussian blue. All candles emanate a mirror effect both on their interior and exterior surfaces. Once lit, the flame shines through, a star in its own right with your interior as its stage.
This collection includes five candles and three diffusers, named after icons of the disco era and queens of American soul music. They conjure up memories of DONNA Summer, GLORIA Gaynor, DIANA Ross and, of course, the unforgettable TINA Turner... It is with pleasure that they pay homage to these legends.
The Disco collection’s 5th candle will bear the same name as New York’s most notorious nightclub: Studio 54. Inspired by the parties and music of this disco era, Peter Lippmann depicts the Tina, Donna, Gloria and Diana candles surrounded by mirrors, a reference to the disco balls that light up the night. The candles’ sheen comes to life when in contact with in nity mirrors, creating a mesmerising illusion. In line with this collection’s theme, the talented singer Kelly Lippmann has produced a Disco-inspired single, filmed by her father.
For this collection’s olfactory identity, Baobab sought to revisit the subtle scents of a time when sensuality and powdered glamour came together in perfect harmony. Scents of new collection evoke the flavours of a past era, a memory that resurfaces as though no time has passed.
